Easter Sunday

Happy Easter Everyone!! This morning I woke up to find that the Easter Bunny had been to my house! He brought me Toy Story and some bath stickers. Yesterday Mommy, Daddy, Nino Ivan and I decorated eggs. This morning I put my own special touch on them by decorating them with stickers. We went to church. There was a beautiful cross decorated with flowers. I loved it! Then we had pancakes with 'Bama and Papa. What a great day, and that's only the morning! Now I'm taking my nap to be ready for an adventurous afternoon...
Continued... when I woke up, the Easter Bunny had hidden eggs around our backyard for me to find. I had a blast and found THEM ALL! Then we went to 'Bama and Papa's for a BBQ. There the Easter Bunny brought me a Fairy Treehouse and thomas the Tank Engine set that would make Cousin Mark jealous. I told Mommy he'll have to come over and play with me this summer!!

Thank you to everyone for making my birthday so special! So glad Cousin Annie and Gigi could come down for the weekend! I had so much fun with all my friends at the park! I had a yummy Foofa cake and 'Beula's potato tacos. What a great day! I love being two!!

The Holidays

The holidays have been such a blast this year, especially because Gigi Betty came to visit from England! The highlight for mom was when I let her put my hair in pigtails! I had a lot of fun decorating the Christmas tree and eating cake on Mommy's birthday!! Now every time I see cake, I want to sing "Happy Birthday to You." Just imagine how I'm going to go nuts on my VERY OWN birthday at the end of the month. I also had a fun little Christmas party with my BFF Daphne. Mommy, Daddy and I had fun opening presents on Christmas morning. And Daddy made me a Mickey Mouse pancake. One of my favorite gifts was a set of Yo Gabba Gabba toys and Santa brought me my very first Tricycle!! I had spaghetti with 'buela and 'buelo for New Year's Eve and had breakfast with Daphne on New Year's Day. Today Mommy, 'bama and I took Gigi Betty to Catalina. We had such a great time and I even saw my very first Buffalo. He came right up to us!! xoxoxox

A couple of weeks ago, when we went to visit Sophia in Ventura, Barbara took some AWESOME photos of me and my family. We had such a great time, can't you tell? We played with bubbles and ate some cheese . . . two of my favorite past times. Barbara is such an amazing photographer! (She did mommy and daddy's wedding too.) On Sunday we went up to Ventura to take some family photos and we got to play with Sophia and her mommy and daddy. They took us to a park and invited us for lunch. We had so much fun! Then I came home and Swiffered . . . I AM my mother's daughter . . .

Pumpkin Patch '09

Sunday Funday

Today was Sunday Funday. Mommy and Daddy have been working A LOT! But today we had so much fun I didn't even want to take a nap. I painted and played guitar with daddy in the backyard. We're finally getting settled into our new house. Last Sunday we planted a new flower bed in the front yard.We planted one of mommy's favorites, a hydrangea that daddy bought her for their anniversary.

We moved into our new house a few weeks ago. Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but we've been busy getting settled in. Things are starting to come together. d Auntie Melinda and Daphne came to visit us from Tucson. Now we're getting ready for the British invasion!!

Exploring the Central Coast

Last weekend, I visited my Gigi on the Central Coast. First, on Friday, I went to my Cousin Annie's pool party. She just bought a new house nestled among the vinyards in Paso Robles. My favorite part was splashing in her pool and making new friends like Avery (you can see him in the photo. We also celebrated my Gigi's birthday and stayed in Morro Bay where we watched the surfers near Morro Rock. Cousin Toni (our official family geologist) told us that Morro Rock was a plug in the volcano that was there a long time ago. Funny, that whole time I thought it was a giant turtle that had just fallen asleep in the bay . . .

Dance Party!

Another thing mommy and I like to do is have a dance party! I love to make music with mommy's piano and daddy's guitar, but while I'm dancing my favorite instrument is the maracas (okay, and sometimes a tambourine).

Now mommy's on vacation, we starting taking swimming lessons with Auntie Shea and my homie Bryce. Lemme tell ya . . . There's nothing I love better than the water. As soon as I see it I start screaming "Agua, Agua!!" I love to kick my legs and I've even started putting my head underwater. Bryce is doing really well too! The first pics are from when mommy and daddy took me to the Hebrew Academy back in April, that's when I got hooked. Now I'm a little mermaid!

Disneyland

Back in April I went to Disneyland with mommy and daddy. We bought passes so we can go a lot this summer when my peeps are here. =) I loved the Tiki Room the best (must have been daddy's influence)! I also had fun on the carousel and the Mark Twain!!

Sorry to everybody that I haven't written lately! I've been so busy walking and talking . . .
I just started walking all by myself on May 22nd. I've been walking holding someone's finger for months, and I had taken some steps by myself, but I was lacking confidence. Well, I'm feeling very confident these days, running around. I love to play games, like finding my Care Bear or Curious George. I'm also talking a lot. Some of my favorite words are: no, mama, chair, shoes, car, agua (water), ball, bus, si, bite and I love to do the "refrigerator" sign. And I still love to eat . . . almost everything!

Mommy and Daddy's photos of me at the pumpkin patch were pretty cute, but they also let the pros get some shots. I got to wear my whole costume too! I had lots of fun in the forest frolicking and chillin' out in front of the farmhouse. Love you!

Pumpkin Patch

Last week, Mommy and Daddy took me for my first trip to the pumpkin patch. I had so much fun! Mommy even let me sit in the straw and touch the pumpkins! (I got a really good bath that night!) They took me to a very flashy pumpkin patch, with pony rides and a train and everything. Mommy wasn't so down with the pony rides, but she let me watch the train go round and round and round and round and round. Loved it! I even got to wear the hat that goes to my Halloween costume. Yes, I'm going to be a Little Lady(bug). So here's a little sneak peek of a spotted Apollina Ballerina with antennae. . . You'll hafta invite me over for Halloween to see the whole costume. Wow! It was a busy month and I'm still catching my breath! Let me fill you in so far . . .
On September 21st I went with Mommy and Daddy up to Santa Barbara to celebrate their anniversary. We had a picnic in the rose garden where they got married. I really liked smelling the roses!

Back to School

Sorry it's been so long since my last post. Mommy went back to school and she's been very busy. I'm sad that mommy has to go back to working, but the good news is that I get to hang out with my grandmas a lot! Oh yeah, and Mondays are 'Apollina and Daddy's Monday Funday' because I get to hang out with Daddy all day. It's so much fun!
I've been trying my best to crawl lately. In fact, on Thursday night Grandma and Grandpa watched me go from sitting on to my belly and then crawl backwards. I'm not sure I knew what I was actually doing, but hey, I did it. It's really only a matter of time now. =)

Hi Everybody!
It's so nice to be back at home. I missed all of my friends and family while I was away. I actually got home last Tuesday, but my internet connection was down, so I could not blog until today. I was having blog withdrawls, believe me!!
As usual, I've been a busy little bee and so much has happened since my last post. Auntie 'Tilda and BFF Daphne have been in town and I've been lucky enough to spend lots of time with them. Today we visited the Huntington Library and Gardens together. I saw "Blue Boy" and "Pinkie" in the art collections and we found the Apolline Rose in the rose garden (Auntie 'Tilda helped me find it!) We also checked out the Japanese and Chinese gardens. It was actually my second time there, but last time mom bored me by pouring over all the nerdy stuff in the library!
Yesterday, I went to see my cuz Serenity in her gymnastics recital. She was awesome!! I can't wait until she can show me how to do the bars and the balance beam and all that cool stuff.
I started eating Apples and I kinda like 'em, but not as much as I love peas and carrots and sweet potatoes. I'm a veggie lover for sure!
Mommy's getting a little sad because Summer is getting to its end, and soon she'll hafta go back to work, but I told her we'll have lots of fun adventures before then! =)

Hyde Park

Yesterday I had the best day in London! My mommy and daddy and Auntie Laura took me to London. We went shopping on Oxford Street, Carnaby Street and Regents Street. It was so crowded, but I didn't cry or anything! I was just in awe of all the new faces and sights. Everything was moving so fast! After shopping we hopped on the tube to Hyde Park and mommy had a Flake 99, which she's been craving EVERYDAY! We took a walk around the park and sat down on the grass by the lake. Mommy loved to watch the people and I loved watching the birds. Hyde Park was my favorite place ever!! Then we headed for the Palladium theater where Auntie Maggie picked me up. She took me back home and was a very good babysitter! She still oves me even after I cried all the way on the tube. It was the scary Chavvy guys who made faces at me. Then it was home for a bath and bed. Today we've been getting ready for my big party on Sunday. I'm so excited!! I miss all my friends and family who aren't here!

I'm on my second day in London and I've had lots of firsts already! Today I had my first trip on a train and my first trip on the underground. I went with mommy and daddy, Auntie Maggie and Uncle Mike and Auntie Laura to Hampton Court. We saw all the lavish kitchens and apartments of Henry the Eighth and his six (!) wives. So much drama went down there . . . And we saw the costumes worn in the movie The Other Boleyn Girl. They were so beautiful and elaborate. Daddy got to see how they used to roast meat on big spits. His mouth was watering . . . Tomorrow mommy daddy, Auntie Hannah, Auntie Laura and Nino Paul are going to the West End to see The Sound of Music. They're very excited!

Back in the UK

Today I arrived back in the UK. My friend Judy came to pick us up. I was brilliant on the plane! Spain was terrific! We stayed at a resort in a town called Marbella, which is near Malaga. First, we visited Granada and walked around the Alhambra. I liked all the pretty door archways and elaborate etchings in the walls. Some parts of that buliding are over 1000 years old! Next we visited Jerez, which is known for its sherry bodegas. We tried to see a Flamenco show, but mommy isn't good with the names of the days in Spanish, so she botched that one! On Thursday, I celebrated my 6 month birthday. I had my first bananas and went swimming in the swimming pool for my first time ever. I loved the pool, but I'm still not convinced about the bananas. Yesterday, I spit them back at mommy. Hehehehehe . . .
Yesterday we visited Sevilla. This was by far our favorite city in Spain. There were beautiful old colonial style buildings and I got really excited when we went into the Cathedral, the third biggest church in Europe! Mommy and daddy had some tasty tapas and sangria there too.
Spain was a lot of fun, but I'm really glad to be back in England. This week is going to be so much fun! When we were staying in Rutland I got to see where my mommy's hero Shakespeare was born, now I'll get to see where he put on his plays. I'm also looking forward to seeing Hampton Court, where Henry the Eighth lived. Right now though, it's time for a nice little snack and a nap.

Rutland

My family and I are staying outside a little village called Oakham. Our 'toblerone' (that's what Uncle Mark calls our chalet because it looks like a giant piece of Toblerone chocolate) is right on the water at a big lake called Rutland Waters. We've been having so much fun, visiting old places like Burley House, Rockingham Castle and . . . best of all . . . we visited the hometown of mommy's hero . . . Shakespeare!! Wow, we saw where he was born, and mommy took a photo of me 'treading the boards' at his house, even though she wasn't supposed to. I decided it was very different from Hoag, and I think I got pretty lucky!
Daddy is enjoying the pints and the fish n chips. Oh, and I started sitting up all by myself (photos to follow). I miss all my friends and family back home and I love you very much. Next up, I'm planning to visit Cambridge and go punting on the Cam river. Gotta go check out my future university, ya know! Then I'm staying at my Great Grandma's in Downham Market and visiting my Great Great Auntie Winnie, Great Grandpa Harry's sister. Good Times! (Or should I say Good Tea Times?)
Well, I'm off to have my first peas today. I already love carrots and pears.

My very first blog

This is my very first blog. I am almost six months old. The most exciting thing in my life currently is that I have started eating solid foods. Yesterday was my first time eating vegetables. I had carrots. I did a pretty amazing job of getting more carrots into my mouth than on my bib. It was pretty fun!

Today, mommy and daddy are packing everything to go on our trip. Of course, mommy is packing waay too much stuff, but I'll let it slide because this is her first time traveling on an airplane as a mommy. She'll learn.

I'm so excited to meet my English family! Watch out England, the (quasi-) Americans are coming!
